2009 recap

2009 (the ups and downs):

January - Our house was robbed (on New Year's!), but insurance paid for almost everything. We decided not to replace the TV.
February - We began taking French lessons, and Rocky surprised Maria with a Disney cruise to the Bahamas!
March - Rocky turned 28
April - We got new siding on the house and refinanced to a 15 yr mortgage.
May - We moved to France for the summer and settled into a new apartment/dorm.
June - We visited Paris, Luxembourg, Germany, and Italy among others... Maria's mom, Mary, acquired a brain injury in a car accident. Maria flew home to the US and Rocky continued teaching in Metz, France.
July - Maria turned 28. Rocky remained in France to finish classes and Maria & her sister cared for Mary in Atlanta.
August - Rocky returned to the US and Maria returned to work at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
September - We began adjusting to a new 'normal' with daily trips to the hospital. We shared a car everyday.
October - Rocky traveled to Denver for a conference.
November - Maria's mom moved home! Our one remaining vehicle died. We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Dunlaps and then the Swaffords.
December - We purchased a new vehicle. We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary!
