Close-Call Christmas 2010

This story starts back on Dec. 13th when Rocky flew to Paris and then to Toulouse for a conference. Snow  cancelled his flight back to Paris, twice (believe it or not Paris doesn't usually get much snow). He and another stranded conference-goer, Bob, headed south (so logical!). Bob and Rocky took a train to Barcelona where they spent a day hanging out (why not?) before heading to Madrid to catch their flight. After arriving in Madrid, their flight was cancelled (of course!) because a bird flew into the engine of the plane (we're guessing this happened when the plane was landing in Madrid).

Meanwhile, Rocky's wife (ahem, me) is beginning to expect emails with subject lines like "Change of Plans," "Again," and "You won't believe this..." and also wondering why she didn't press him a little harder to accompany him on this trip!

Rocky did make it home from Europe on Christmas Day a little after midnight. Phew! That was a close call!

His Christmas gifts to his wife were quite clever:

BCN is Barcelona and the red shape is Gaudi's Sagrada Familia church

Now I ask, what was your favorite gift this Christmas? What has been the most memorable Christmas gift you've ever received?
