Rolling Over... and over, and over!

Hey kiddo! You surprised us the first time you rolled over - at 3 months! Here's how it went down:

It was a Monday night just a little before 7pm and your mom was headed out to a Ladies Bible Study. You and Dad were going to hang out together at home (playing Block Attack... ask him about it). Mom was already in the car and Dad was standing at the front door keeping an eye on you while waving good-bye. You were laying on your back on a play mat. As Mom began to drive away your Dad started running down the street after the car! "She flipped over!" He yelled. Neither of them saw you do it, but when Dad turned to look you were on your tummy. He left the front door wide open when he ran down the street. Luckily, neither you nor the cats escaped before he returned, but he and Mom both laughed at their excitement over your new feat.

No one saw you roll over the second time either. That happened one Wednesday afternoon when you were at Grandpa John & Grandma Mary's house. Your Aunt Susan placed you on your tummy and she returned from the kitchen to find you on your back! Your mom heard her shout from the bathroom "She rolled over!"

And then you didn't budge for about two months. No rolling. Just a happy little thumb-sucker you were!

Just before you turned 6 months old you began sleeping in your own room. You had more space to move in your big crib, so flipping over became a game for you. The best part was watching HOW you flipped over on the baby video monitor. Some kids put their feet in the air and roll sideways, other kids throw their head and shoulders to the side to get momentum. You? You dig your face into the ground and stick your butt in the air and throw your hips to one side or the other. Hey, it works for you, and it's funny to watch!

We love watching you grow up!
